Environment & Safety


It is the policy of our company to perform work in the safest possible manner consistent with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.

It is our belief that every employee in the construction industry is entitled to work in a safe and healthy construction environment. Every reasonable precaution shall be taken to provide such an environment. Our goal is to eliminate or minimize the hazards that cause accidents and injuries. Any accident in this company will be viewed as a serious matter and will be thoroughly investigated.

Management’s Responsibilities

  1. Consider safety as well as production in all planning.

  2. Take every reasonable precaution to prevent personal injury.

  3. Provide and maintain a safe, healthy work environment.

  4. Ensure any accident or incident occurring in the workplace is thoroughly investigated and that remedial steps are taken to prevent a recurrence.

  5. Ensure compliance with W.H.M.I.S. regulations.

  6. Provide competent supervision.

  7. General Contractors must be responsible for all sub-contractors on site and have a competent Supervisor in charge of the entire site who will:

  1. Establish a safety committee where there are more than 20 workers

  2. Ensure a safety representative is selected by the workers on site for projects that have between 5 and 20 workers

  3. Provide a telephone or other system that can be used in an emergency

  4. Not permit anyone under the age of 16 on the site

  5. Plan the project so that vehicles and equipment are operated as little as possible in reverse
